The P.E.P. (Perpetual Education Program) Grant program was established by RCEA in March of 2016 in memory of long-time RCEA Member, Scott Hunt. Scott was involved with CEA and the local Regional Associations for several decades as a member, and an affiliate (with FPS). Scott was a President of Orange County Escrow Association (OCEA) and later the Desert Escrow Association.
Scott was a huge supporter of CEA and could always be counted on to assist in any way possible. At OCEA, Scott created his PEP theme, and it was a hit! Later the nickname stuck, he became “Mr. PEP” because of his infectious positive attitude, and eagerness to spread the benefits of becoming an involved CEA member.
Scott’s passing was a great loss to the industry and to our Regional. The RCEA Board decided to do something in Scott’s memory to support the industry, as a whole, not just our members. Establishing the P.E.P. Grant with the thought of assisting any resident of Riverside County wishing to participate in some type of escrow-related education.
The PEP Grant funds can be used to attend Escrow-related classes (at a college, Escrow Training Institute, The Business of Escrow, etc), CEA live Webinars, Escrow Conferences, Notary classes, CEA online Webinars, and any number of other escrow-related educational opportunities. Up to four (4) grants will be funded by RCEA annually. Grants are funded by member and sponsor donations.
